Butterfly Estates
The Butterfly Estates is a 3600 square foot glass butterfly conservatory and is also the home to The Florida Native Butterfly Society. The mission of The Florida Native Butterfly Society is to protect and raise Florida native butterfly species through education, preservation, and by creating more green spaces within the community.
A major part of their efforts are the educational presentations, which encourage local citizens to plant butterfly friendly plants in their own backyards. These presentations are available to all ages and include kid's projects and activities. To help the local butterfly populations to flourish, The Butterfly Estates also offers gardening classes, using native plants.
The Butterfly Estates main goal is to help the native population of butterflies to grow, therefore they do not house exotic species or those not native to Florida. Everyone is encouraged to take photographs and share their experiences with their friends and family!
