Red Bug Slough Preserve

 Red Bug Slough Preserve
Red Bug Slough Preserve has been 72 acres of protected land since 2001. This popular area brings a lush stretch of natural wildlife to the middle of suburban Sarasota County. Known for its popular fishing dock, this preserve is the perfect place to get away from the busy city life for a day.

Three miles of trail wrap the natural Florida habitat with a few lake access points and canopies of thick forest. This trail is unpaved but accessible to almost every visitor. Track through wetlands and discover the wildlife around you. The preserve also offers the option for jogging, biking, and hiking.

After you've bird watched and tried your hand at fishing, relax in the shaded picnic benches as you watch the children play on the nearby swings and playground.

Bring your dogs to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine as well! The preserve does strongly recommend the pets be leashed.
