Jelks Preserve

 Jelks Preserve
Jelks Preserve holds over 600 acres of Florida's natural terrain with access to the beautifully flowing Myakka river.

This Preserve has over 8 miles of unpaved trails for biking and hiking. At the entrance to the park, located in a shaded area, there is an informational kiosk that explains each different tail, where they lead, and their experience level. Some trails will be more difficult than others, but almost all the trails are accessible to every visitor.

A 3-mile loop trail is perfect for observing every habitat Florida offers. Enjoy shaded portions under canopies of Florida's pined flatwoods and sinking pieces of her wetlands as you adventure.

These trails offer three different access points to the Myakka River. These points allow for fishing, wildlife viewing, and birding.

Stop at one of the many picnic areas and enjoy a snack or lunch. Be advised there are no trash receptacles at this preserve. To help keep this natural scenery from withering, all your trash packed in is recommended to be packed out.

Jelks Preserve also accepts animals as long as they are leashed. Bring your pets and let them discover The Sunshine State's natural landscape!
